Hanabira Hina dolls

$28.8 $41.47
This product is one of traditional handcrafts of Kyoto.  It is very well made by hand, considering the small size. Hanabira Hina dolls The dolls are called ‘Hina’ because it is made for the girl’s festival in Japan called ‘Hina Matsuri’ in March. Hinamatsuri is to pray for the healthy growth of daughters.  (Check out my blog post of Japan’s girls day from here.) The dolls are to protect the daughters from disasters such as injury and illness and to have it act as a substitute. They are small versions of Hina dolls made from Chirimen fabric.  Chirimen is a traditional Japanese fabric.  In English it is called crepe textile.  Hanabira (Petal) Hina dolls are popular from the time they were first released. The dolls with a gentle face are sitting on the big petal of Sakura. Please note that the pattern of the kimono may differ from the image. Great gift for a Japan lover who have daughter/s!
