70cm Furoshiki Ume (Plum blossoms) 梅 Ume is a Japanese word for Plum blossoms. This 70cm Furoshiki is designed with pink and white plum blossoms which normally bloom in Japan during February and March. They are the 2nd most popular flower motif after Sakura (Cherry blossoms). In the Heian period (794-1185), court nobles had plum trees planted in their gardens and used to enjoy them as garden plants and they used to prefer Plum blossoms to Cherry blossoms.
