Description Barole 20 prevents the production of acid in the stomach. It reduces symptoms and prevents injury to the esophagus or stomach in patients with gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) or ulcers. Barole 20 is also useful in conditions that produce too much stomach acid such as Zollinger-Ellison syndrome. Barole 20 may also be used with antibiotics to get rid of bacteria that are associated with some ulcers. Common Uses: Short-term treatment of duodenal ulcers Treatment and symptomatic relief of erosive or ulcerative GERD Maintenance of healing of erosive or ulcerative GERD Treatment of pathological hypersecretory conditions, including Zollinger-Ellison Syndrome Dosage: The typical dose for adults is 20 mg, taken once daily. Side Effects: Common side effects may include headache, nausea, vomiting, gas, diarrhea, constipation, or stomach pain. Serious side effects can occur and may require immediate medical attention, such as severe stomach pain, diarrhea that is watery or bloody, or signs of an allergic reaction.
