These medications work in concert to kill H pylori bacteria in the stomach. Esomeprazole: A proton pump inhibitor that reduces stomach acid, creating an environment less hospitable for H. pylori. Amoxicillin: An antibiotic that disrupts the bacterial cell wall, leading to the bacteria’s death. Clarithromycin: Another antibiotic that inhibits protein synthesis in bacteria, effectively stopping their growth.
